About Us

Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge is located a half block from Monument Square in downtown Portland, Maine. Open since 2005, Slainte has become well known for it's live music scene and for the city's longest running Open Mic Comedy Night.

Owner/Operator, Ian Farnsworth, works tirelessly to make sure his patrons have a good time by switching up the wine list, the beers on tap and serving food until 12:30 am.

Slainte, nominated for a couple years now as Best Folk Venue in the Portland Phoenix "Best of" Awards, features live music and entertainment almost every night. Monday night is Trivia Night, which was nominated as best trivia night in Portland for the 2011 Best of Awards by the Portland Phoenix. Every Wednesday is Open Mic and every Thursday is Open Mic Comedy, hosted by Brian Brinegar.
